Mini Lindy Taurillon Clemence in Gold with Gold Hardware

Hailed as one of the more accessible and practical options from the Hermès handbag catalog, the Hermès Lindy has proven its rank and continues to be one of the most sought after handbags sold by the French Maison. 

When creating the Lindy handbag, designer Frédéric Vidal kept in mind the importance of flexibility and practicality. In 2007, the design came to fruition, setting the Lindy apart from other Hermès handbags. The first and most notable attribute of the handbag was the handle positioning. The Lindy handbag features handles that are perpendicular, instead of parallel to the main body of the bag. 

This simple change allows for one to put their hand through the two handles from the side, while both bag and arm stay in a more natural position for the wearer. To extend this practicality, Vidal added a shoulder strap that connects handle to handle, adding an optional shoulder strap that adds extra functionality and stays out of the way while not in use. 

The Lindy was clearly made with functionality in mind, as these simple changes also allows the bag to fold slightly to bend with the body.
